A mere five miles from Spring Meadow, you can drive up this limestone ridge for a panorama of your playground. You’ll notice plentiful opportunities for outdoor recreationists like Ijams Nature Center, as well as the vibrant pull of the arts scene in Old Town. If you have a day to while away, we’d suggest starting with breakfast at OliBea where fresh food is served Southern style. With your appetite whetted, feed your mind at the Beck Cultural Exchange Center before getting some fresh air the Botanical Gardens. Plus, chances are that no matter the time of year, there will be a festival going on – from the Dogwood Arts Festival to the Kuumba Festival to the eight-week-long events of Christmas in the City.
